Paola’s Pomegranate

I love discovering the beauty in everyday objects.

This painting was painted “alla prima”* from direct observation and using natural lighting one morning in my studio/home in Umbria Italy.
*Alla Prima means that the painting was started and finished in one sitting. The paint is applied wet into wet. It is a gestural and essential way of painting and is associated with the Impressionists.

It is signed on the front and back with a final protective damar varnish. I use only the finest professional grade Italian oil paints, brushes, mediums, canvas boards, and of course local fruit.

This painting is
