Why didn’t my submission make it to the front page?

Here are some typical reasons:

  • Your photo:
    • was very blurry
    • was too dark
    • was washed out
    • the colors were really off
    • had a distracting border
    • when it was cropped to a square it was no longer possible to see the item
    • was taken from too far away
    • had a watermark or date stamp
  • Not one of those? Then it was just a personal judgement call of mine* but please submit again with a different item or a new photo!
    * my least favorite part of running this site.

Why was my submission deleted?

Here are some typical reasons:

  • Your photo was too small.
  • You submitted more than 2 times in a day.

Can I be notified when my image is promoted the front page?

I wish that the Gallery was supported by a huge team of developers, but unfortunately it is just me :) If I can make this work I will, but it isn’t in the cards right now.

Try Handmade is my group blog where we write about beautiful handmade products every day. By submitting your items to this Gallery, you’re significantly increasing the chance of us finding you work and blogging about you.

  • 300 x 300 pixels minimum - will be cropped to a square. This is the MOST important part of your submission so please choose your image carefully. Check in the sidebar over there for some tips →
